It is hard to believe that the 37th anniversary of the Scottsdale Culinary Festival is once again in full swing. As everyone in Scottsdale Arizona knows – this foodie affair is the longest running event of its kind in the entire nation. It may have started as a small community event, but this year’s festival will host over 35,000 patrons as contributors gather to showcase their top culinary talents. It truly seems as though each year the contributors strive to outdo each other and themselves, and this year is showing no signs of stopping that trend. Tonight’s Burger Battle event runs from 6:30 – 9:30 pm at the Valley Ho. That’s three glorious hours of enough burger business to bust the seams of those skinny jeans – sorry hipsters.
All serious foodies should be on the lookout for Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row’s Bacon Marmalade Burger. It’s unclear what sort of competition the Bacon Marmalade Burger will face, but Whiskey Row has already charmed the pants off of entertainers and foodies alike since its inception back in 2013. With its spontaneous country star appearances (Luke Bryan did an impromptu appearance last month), hand crafted menu, and – most importantly – the sea of Daisy Duke shorts worn by the Whiskey Row girls. In addition to delighting your taste buds, proceeds from Whiskey Row’s contribution to The Burger Battle will help raise funds for the Scottsdale League of the Arts – so come hungry – just do us all a favor and leave the skinny jeans at home.
